Vision: To serve as a community leader through resource development and resource allocation to commit Transylvania County residents to:

“ I’m a Volunteer with United Way and I have directly seen the positive impact United Way has in its leadership addressing community issues. One thing that made an impact on me was how United Way brought together like minded people to the address the lack of workforce housing. Today teachers, law enforcement and nurses are able to live and work in Transylvania County. I am so glad United Way is focusing also on early Educational needs. We envision our young children being ready to learn when they start school.”

"I’m a volunteer with United Way, and I wash dishes at the Bread of Life every Monday. One thing that really made an impact on me was hearing stories from the soup kitchen director about homeless families he meets. He explaned how Bread of Life has impacted the lives of families forced to live in the forest or in their car due to lack of emergency housing. United Way partners with Bread of Life to provide emergency assistance to families who otherwise would go unnoticed and hungry.

“ I’m a Board member with United Way. One thing that made an impact on me was United Ways proactive role in housing efforts, because it gives our service workers affordable housing. I am also glad United Way is focusing on Education. We envision a more informed and better educated and therefore stronger community. What we want to do is reach preschool children effectively. I volunteer because I want to see a stronger Transylvania County.”
